I'm Zsuzsanna,
I have been a Conservation Fine Art Photographer for the past 15 years. I was fortunate enough to have trained in Europe and proud to have graduated from the New York Institute Of Photography. Happy to have been born and raised In Budapest Hungary…..and now have lived in the United State for the past 22 years.
I can honestly say I feel equally confident and comfortable with the digital camera as well as the standard format film cameras. I do have preferences however, that being the Sony Alpha for underwater photography and the Nikon D800. I travel often with my family and for my passion, which is enjoying hiking biking diving and recording the beauty this world has to offer.
I believe it’s also worth mentioning that conservation photography is one of the only art forms that lends itself to conservation as its aim is to preserve and save, not alter, manipulate or change the subject matter. I truly feel blessed to have such a mission in life.
My artistic growth started out in oil and acrylic paintings 22 years ago, with my first very successful show in the heart of New York City in The Jacob Javits Center.
I worked full time with acrylics and oils for many years but our world is changing so quickly and in order to preserve it I felt to paint it was simply not enough …..so I put down the brush, and picked up the camera and have never looked back in regret. Conservation Photography had now been my passion for the past 15 years. I feel I am giving to all generations to come, giving what they may not be able to see for themselves. I sincerely want to pass down to future generations what I see now but what is rapidly disappearing before our very eyes today.
Most of my works will appear to be three dimensional. My goal is to make you feel as if you are looking out of a window or standing in front of a canal or in front of a vast canyon. I want you to be there, through my art. I want you to forget you are looking at photography, I want you to be there with me. Each one of my works I strive, arduously, to have you feel as if you can literarily step into it.
I want, I need, my viewers to feel as if they are transported to the most beautiful places in the world and doing this without the use of digital manipulation and color enhancement.
My art is aimed and focused at saving what nature has to offer, again, Im not altering it or changing it, Im preserving it, for me, for you and for all who come after us.
These photographs I’m capturing are a testimonial to what is and what needs to be saved. Conservation Photography is the art of only using computer software to recreate what I have seen in reality and not pushing up the colors to just sell art. The goal here for me is to save what is, not change it to what it should be or what looks good. So when you look at my creations, I want you to feel like you are standing there with me while I was capturing the images. Behind each and every one of my images there is a conservation story.
My photographs are crystal clear at any size and especially the extremely large sizes, such as 48”x96”….but many ask how can this be? There are extremely few cameras in the world that can achieve the level of clarity that I’m striving for. In order to get the clarity level for the large format photographs l passionately and meticulously join multiple images together side by side to achieve images sometimes as large as 2,700 megapixels.
The pieces you see that I have done can be from 30 images to over 80 images merged together side by side. I do this seamlessly over 4 to 8 weeks joining images together on the computer to achieve this level of clarity that is as good as real life and this level of clarity is not only rare but actually unheard of in the world of conservation photography.
It’s worth stressing, these are all real places and the merging of these images is simply like putting a puzzle together for me.
Since 2008 I have been honored with multiple Awards Of Merit from the NYIP, PPA and Epson International Pano Awards……It is worth mentioning that even one Award of Merit is difficult to achieve from the NYIP and Epson. I feel so blessed to now have many of these distinctions. I don’t take these awards lightly, it’s truly humbling when so many other gifted artists and art connoisseur recognize my work.
Just in 2022 :
